La Garriga is a municipality in the Vall\u00e8s Oriental region. Located 40 kilometres from Barcelona, it forms part of the Montseny Natural Park.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t The village of La Garriga is crossed from north to south by the river Congost, a tributary of the river Bes\u00f2s.<\/p> The town’s urban structure is strongly marked by the Paseo, an urban thoroughfare opened in 1878 and almost a kilometre long, shaded by two rows of 272 enormous plane trees originally from the Devesa de Girona park. It is the most stately avenue in La Garriga.<\/p> La Garriga is known throughout Catalonia for its most important industry, the furniture industry, as well as for its thermal springs, its modernist summer resort buildings and the carpets of flowers that are made during the Corpus Christi festival.<\/p> The Maur\u00ed Museum and Library-Foundation, located in Carrer de Cardedeu in La Garriga, contains the testamentary legacy of the illustrious notary Jos\u00e9 Maur\u00ed y Serra, a favourite son of La Garriga.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
